7 projects, 1 mission: building Europe’s circular manufacturing future

The EU Circularity Cluster is a collaborative network of seven Horizon Europe projects funded under the call HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-05. Its mission is to accelerate the transformation of Europe’s manufacturing sector toward sustainability, circularity, and competitiveness by pooling knowledge, tools, and best practices.

The cluster brings together seven complementary projects:

  • DATA4CIRC: developing an innovative data-sharing framework to prepare European manufacturing for a more sustainable future.
  • GEAR-UP: advancing manufacturing technologies and circular materials to boost efficiency and sustainability.
  • ENCIRCLE: driving the shift from linear production models to sustainable, circular approaches.
  • CIRCMAN5.0: transforming the photovoltaic manufacturing sector through circular manufacturing techniques.
  • PSS-PASS: leveraging product-service systems to extend product use and reduce environmental impact.
  • Digi4Circular: creating a digital platform that integrates automated design workflows, machine learning, and life cycle analysis to support circular product design.
  • DIAMETER: promoting circular-by-design additive manufacturing and industrial training.

Together, these initiatives span the entire manufacturing value chain, from product design and materials to processes, business models, and digital solutions.

The objectives of the EU Circularity Cluster are to:

  1. Foster collaboration between projects to maximize impact.
  2. Share results, insights, and tools across industries and research communities.
  3. Identify synergies that speed up the adoption of circular strategies.
  4. Strengthen Europe’s leadership in sustainable, data-driven manufacturing.

Collaboration is at the heart of the cluster and we look forward to building synergies that will accelerate the transition towards a more circular economy in Europe!
